The quickest way to create ribbon is by simply ripping fabric along the grain line. Not all fabrics will rip, look for an even weave and small diameter thread. Make a cut in the fabric, parallel to the grain, a couple of cm long.  Pull evenly from both side of the cut. If the fabric shreds or nothing happens try cutting a little deeper. Use your own ribbon to decorate gifts or cards.
