I see it as a privilege to give your guest a gift to take home – something personal from you to them. A gift speaks a language that words cannot express. If you have a keen gardener to stay, surprise them with labelling sticks, seeds or seedlings. For the not-so-keen gardener, but someone who still appreciates greenery without having anything to do with it, a herb basket will do the job. The rest you can spoil with lovely treats from your kitchen.

Cut a lolly stick using garden secateurs, so that one end is pointed and the other flat. Paint it with grey blackboard paint. Tie together and place in a homemade holder made from an old vitamin container.
