Method:

1. Cover the hanging basket in the same way as the mesh domes with chicken wire.

2. To make space for the handles, cut away the mesh from two squares facing each other, near the basket rim.

3. Use the bent nose pliers to pull back and tuck the wire around the openings. Neatly work away any loose strands.

4.Tear up about ten pages of paper from a paperback into long, thin strips. Pour some PVA glue into a plate and dip the strips into the glue.
Start wrapping the paper strips around the two mesh free areas of the rim. Build up several layers so as to make a comfortable and sturdy handle on each side.

5 Using a small paintbrush and varnish the handles.
